Day 2 - Later Still

I am 2 days old

I sleep. But it is not a good sleep. It is the sleep of the drugged.

But I am calm and I am alive.

I cannot open my eyes. I am drugged. But I sense my mummy. She loves me so much. And she is carrying something.

Its a bottle. With brown stuff. What is that mummy? What is it?

It passes into my stomach. Through a tube. A nasty tube. But I cannot eat. I am too small. The tubes keep me alive.

But I am alive! I am alive! I am alive!

Mummy comes again later. She brings more milk. She brings it for me because she loves me. She uses a machine to get the milk. A milking machine. We will call mummy Buttercup.

Or Daisy.

She loves me. She cries.

Where would I be without machines. And doctors and nurses. They are wonderful.

I am alive.
