My Birthday 9:50am
I arrive !
I am 31 weeks old.
I am 9 weeks premature.
Its too soon for this world.
thud-thud
thud-thud
thud-thud
It fades !
I lie there. Not asleep and not awake. Waiting for what will happen to happen.
I see a pin-prick of light in my world. Strange. What is that. Suddenly a slash of blinding light above me. It hurts my eyes. 5 blinding suns above me. Two giant hands reach in and pull me. I leave my home. My tube of life is cut. BUT I CANNOT BREATHE ! It is too soon for this.
I fly across my new world supported by the giant hands. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !
I am a boy! A baby boy!
BUT I CANNOT BREATHE! MY LUNGS ARE SCREAMING!
I fade. I fail. I leave my tiny body and float above it. I look down and see my shell. It is blue and gray and limp.
But strange things are happening. Giant hands are working on my tiny body. Giant, wonderful medical hands. What are they doing. Its too late for this. I am gone. There is a mask on my face and the hands are pumping it. Whats that happening to my body? Its changing colour. A tiny flush of pink. The pink is spreading.
Whoooooooooooooooosh.
I am sucked back into my body. I cannot breath, I cannot cry. I am hungry. I look up. I see a doctor. I think he's called Manesh. He smiles. And a nurse, a lovely nurse but I don't know her name.
And I see somebody else. He's very tall and devilishly handsome and looks a bit like Johnny Depp. Its my Daddy! But there's something missing. He has no hair. Oh my God. Will that happen to me?
He's not smiling. His arms are crossed. He's pale. His eyes are leaking water. How strange....
I look across the room. Many doctors and nurses doing their amazing job and my mummy lying there with a big hole in her belly. She's cold so cold she's shaking. No she's not cold, its the drugs in her spine. Her belly closes up, she is OK
I look up. My daddy is still there. His eyes are still leaking. What is that? He's crying! But he's not a girl. Be strong daddy. I am here, I am born, I will be OK.
I HAVE ARRIVED.
I Weigh 3lb, 2oz (1.41 Kg for you modernists!)
