My Birthday 3:00am
Its the day I arrive. I am 31 weeks old
Thud-Thud
Thud-Thud
Thud-Thud ..........
Its fading and I can feel it fading. I can't move. I just lie there - waiting for whatever will happen to happen.
3:00am and my mummy wakes with a start. She feels my illness and she jumps up out of bed. My world wobbles. I'm a lucky Boris. Lucky my mummy loves me and lucky she's in tune with her body and with my life.
I hear muffled voices through the walls of my home..
'Come to the hospital immediately' they say.
Daddy drives us to the hospital. He's tired. Mummy's tired. I'm so tired. We arrive and are ushered through quiet corridors to a quieter room. My world wobbles and goes darker as electronics are strapped around me. Mummy lies back and my world is still.
tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik - they measure my tiny heart.
'not normal' the voices say. 'but not too bad' they say.
'It is too bad' I scream ! But nobody hears me. My world is quiet and still. I do not move
I sleep and all is not well
