I am 4 weeks old today!
The nice nurses weighed me again this morning. I have put on another 120g which is very good. I now weigh 1.73Kg (3lb 13oz) which is just about heavy enough to go back home with mummy and daddy.
I can now maintain my own temperature. I don't need the incubator. I don't need the heated cot. I don't need the heat shield. I just need a few blankets and snuggly clothes. This is good enough to go back home with mummy and daddy.
I can eat most of my own food now. When I was really small I was fed through a tube. Then I started sucking a bit. Then I had one 'sucking' feed to two tube feeds.
And now I have one tube feed to two 'sucking' feeds.
This is good but not quite good enough to go home. I have to be able to eat everything without a tube.
But we're close. So close now !
